ABOUT CLIF

Music is his passion.

Hear today OC is me, my guitar and my passion for performing and yours for listening. My name is Clif Miller. I have been playing guitar professionally for over 25 years. I started out playing lead guitar for bands, and then started playing and singing in an acoustic duo which transformed into a band. I did some songwriting, evolving into a couple of self-produced CDs.

I have performed live in venues and events around Orange County and opened up at the Coach House for various recording artists. I pride myself in playing acoustic music that is suitable for all occasions. My genre spans the 60’s through the current scene from The Beatles, The Eagles , Cat Stevens, John Denver, a touch of Country with Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Zack Brown, and classics from America, James Taylor, Van Morrison, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, to Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, U2, Oasis, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon. I started to run sound (provide microphones and audio gear) for my band and others awhile ago, and also did the sound for a lecturers, Battle of Bands, local chamber events and regular network meetings – so I can do your sound for your event. I also DJ events too.

Bands can be a trio (Guitar/Drums/Bass or Keyboard) or four piece for larger events. Also, pop jazz on the Spanish Guitar, and as a duo with a keyboardist, or as a trio with a horn player.

Here’s a video of the trio playing at a fundraising event at Bloomingale’s in Fashion Island:

A little more than a solo, but not as ruckus as a band without a drummer – Sometimes I offer a duo – either a bass with guitar and vocals, or two guitars, or guitar and keyboard. With keyboard, drum tracks can be offered for dancing, but without the volume of a drummer.

Clif Miller – Acoustic

My core performances are in the form of Acoustic steel string guitar and vocals. Acoustic guitar and singing is a popular form of Live Music with venues and at events like mixers and weddings because it has a soothing light touch, is not over bearing in sound and volume, is family friendly and has a grass roots appeal that invites people to sing, if it is played with professionalism.

Who doesn’t enjoy Classic Rock from the Beatles, Eagles, America, and grass roots artists such as Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, John Denver, James Taylor, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Simon & Garfunkel. Then there’s more edgier sounds of the Doors, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and modern sounds from John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Cold Play, Life House, Michael Bublee. I also play 80’s tunes from such artists as REO Speedwagon, the Church (Under the Milky Way Tonight), Bryan Adams, Poison, and 90’s from MatchBox 20, Deeps Blue Something (Breakfast at Tiffany’s), the Goo Goo Dolls.

Another appealing sound is the nylon string Spanish Guitar which is played instrumentally without vocals. The nylon string gives the sound a sweet appeal and is normally requested for formal occasions. I play sound classical and pop jazz – artists such as Peter White, Earl Klugh, Otmar Liebert, to popular artist such as Sting, the Beatles, Van Morrison, theatre productions such as the Phantom of the Opera.
